Pakistani model Zara Abid was among the passengers of the ill fated Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-8303 that crashed at Karachi’s Model Colony minutes before landing at Jinnah International Airport.
The PIA Flight PK-8303 was carrying 103 people that included 91 passengers and 12 crew members among which was Pakistani model Zara Abid. However, there are currently no confirmed reports whether she has passed away or survived the tragic accident. Although her name is present on the passenger list that has been released.

The news regarding whether the Pakistan model survived the plane crash is all over the place as many sources are saying she passed away while others are saying that she survived with injuries.

Fashion designer Khadijah Shah took to her official Twitter account to mourn the loss of Zara Abid. She had written, “The fashion industry lost Zara Abid in the plane crash today. She was a wonderful girl, hardworking and professional. I was in awe of the energy and the dynamism in her photographs- May her soul RIP – so many people lost their loved ones today, may Allah have mercy on us all.”
However, she deleted the tweet after it was confirmed that there were a few survivors in the crash. She wrote, “Praying that she may be a survivor! There is news that there are survivors, may Allah keep all of them safe and she be one of them.”

Actor and activist Frieha Altaf also took to Twitter to say that Zara was onboard the aircraft. She wrote, “PIA plane crash. Our fashion model Zara Abid on the list of passengers. I’m devastated. #allahkhair #piaplanecrash.”

According to Frieha, the model was doing a show for a clothing brand Sana Safinaz, but when her uncle passed away, she had left for Lahore. Abid was returning from Lahore to Karachi on the PIA flight. She wrote, “I’m just sick to my stomach. This is so close to home. Huge tragedy for the fashion industry.”

Journalist Mehreen Zahra-Malik also confirmed the news on Twitter. She wrote, “#Pakistan model Zara Abid was on the @Official_PIA flight that crashed in #Karachi this afternoon. Zara’s last post on Instagram was a picture of her sitting inside an air carrier which she captioned, “Fly high, it’s good #ZaraAbid.”
Zara Abid, born on 4th April in Lahore. She grew up in Karachi from where she did her education. She resided in Karachi with her family.
Zara studied at St. Patrick’s Girls High School Karachi. Later she completed her bachelor’s and stepped into the Showbiz industry to become a supermodel of Pakistan.
She has worked with Sana Safinaz, Wajahat Mansoor, Annus Abrar, Zaheer Abbas, Deepak and Fahad, Yasmin Zaman, Payal Keyal and some more.
