Govt announced 20000 scholarships:

The Government of Punjab announced 20,000 scholarships for the students of Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Ex-FATA. In a press conference, Punjab Governor Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar announced these scholarships. These scholarships are for the enrolled students in the Punjab Universities under four-year programs. 

Muhammad Sarwar announced that the government would provide 3200 fully funded (100%) scholarships. At the same time, 16,852 scholarships will be of 50%. He also ordered the universities not to expel these students due to fees. So, to assist the students of these areas, the Punjab government announced Rs 2 Million for scholarships in the 1st phase. 

He said that it would increase up to Rs 80 Million in the 04 years duration. So, it is one of the most significant scholarships in the history of Pakistan. In the press Conference, Muhamad Sarwar said that it was necessary to provide scholarships for these students. Because for the last ten years, the federal and Punjab government did not announce any scholarships for these areas. Then various universities also ended to provide scholarships to the Baloch, GB, and EX-FATA students.

 So, Now around 100 students will receive a 100% scholarship every year and around 800 students in four years. He also said that from the private universities, UMT would provide 100% scholarships to the 216 students annually. He also announced the same statement for the University of Lahore. 

The Akhuwat Foundation chairman, Dr. Amjad Saqib, also announced 400 fully-funded scholarships while PU will provide 100 scholarships (Rs 3,000/month).
