Federal Minister for Water Resources and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda said in a statement that the accused involved in the Lahore Motorway rape incident should be arrested and hanged in public.
Talking to media in Karachi, he reacted to the Lahore gang-rape incident. He said ignorance has to be eradicated. A law is to be enacted to severely punish rapists.
Vawda added such incidents are shameful for civilized societies. Also, tasked law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are to immediately arrest the culprits.
Vawda has also called on MPs and Pakistanis to come together. Opponents of the Zainab Alert Bill should realize what is happening in the country. Moreover, those who rejected the death penalty in the bill should be ashamed.

The unspeakable incident of rape and murder of a minor girl, Marwah, in Karachi and the gang-rape of a woman in front of her children in Lahore’s motorway, have shaken the nation to the core. Pakistanis are now demanding to publicly hang the culprits.

Comments by the CCPO Lahore Umar Shaikh suggesting that the victim of a gang rape on the motorway was to blame have spurred cries of outrage.
Investigators say the woman left her home with her two children in Lahore. She was driving when her car ran out of fuel around 1:30 am. She called a relative and a helpline for the highway police. However, before they arrived, two men approached. They broke the car’s windows and dragged the woman and her children to a field beside the highway, where she was gang-raped.

Marwah had been kidnapped after she left home on Friday morning at around 7 am She went to buy biscuits from a nearby shop. Later, someone found her body stuffed inside a bag in the Essa Nagri neighborhood early on Sunday morning.
